Adapted Aquatics (AA) is a specialised program within the Laurie Lawrence Swim School. The program is designed specifically to enable all levels of ability access to the aquatic environment. Classes may be delivered in a variety of formats including private, semi private & mainstream classes depending on the individual needs of the student.

An individualised program will be designed to enhance skill development and to ensure social, cognitive and physical development is being challenged in a positive and encouraging environment.

Sensory Swim

Sensory Swim is a specialised program within the Laurie Lawrence Swim School designed to allow a more participant led learning experience.

Our sensory swim program is catered towards swimmers aged 6 months to 4 years.  Swimmers require an adult in the water with them to assist participation within the session.

This program offers a little more flexibility in the learning process than our regular formalised classes where our instructors provide the skills and instruction to the group who then practice with their parent/helper in the water.

These sessions would suit swimmers who are anxious or unsettled with the formal structure of swimming lessons or who would like to try a modified aquatic experience complete with sensory activities.

The sensory program can be attended on its own or as an addition to participation in our regular structured swimming lessons.

The instructor will provide activities and experiences for swimmers to explore and enjoy in their own time while supervising and communicating with the group and individually.  Participants can choose the amount of time they spend at each activity and can decide if they want to participate in group activities or continue with individual learning experiences.

Sensory swim is great for swimmers of all abilities and is booked and paid casually.  We require a minimum number of participants to offer this session so bookings will be closed 24 hours before the class is scheduled to ensure lesson planning and preparation.
