Commitment to Child Safety and Safeguarding

At Laurie Lawrence Swim School, the safety, wellbeing, and protection of every child who enters our facilities is our highest priority. We recognise that learning to swim requires an environment that is physically secure, emotionally supportive, and deeply respectful of children's rights.
We actively promote a culture that values the voices of young people. Our organisation listens to children, respects their input, and empowers them to participate in decisions that affect them, including the freedom to voice any concerns they may have.
National Principles Compliance: In strict alignment with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations, we enforce rigorous pre-employment screening, mandatory ongoing child protection training for all staff, and continuous risk management audits across our aquatic programs.
Transparency is foundational to maintaining a safe community. We encourage parents, guardians, and team members to review our formal safeguarding frameworks to understand how we actively protect our students.
Our master policy document outlines our absolute operational standards, code of conduct requirements, and the legal obligations followed by our entire organisation to ensure a protective environment.
We treat all concerns, disclosures, and complaints regarding child safety with the absolute utmost seriousness, urgency, and strict confidentiality. If a parent, guardian, or child feels uncomfortable or observes a behaviour that does not align with our child-safe values, we urge you to report it immediately.
To ensure reporting pathways are completely accessible and transparent, we provide two distinct reporting options.
This portal is designed for parents, guardians, caretakers, or staff members to formally report any safety concerns, behavioural breaches, or safeguarding incidents directly to our compliance and management team.
Children have a right to be heard directly in a manner that matches their level of development. We have established a specialised, easy-to-understand portal that allows younger swimmers to explain what is wrong or report a concern in a way that feels safe, accessible, and comfortable for them.
If you have an urgent matter, require assistance with a form, or wish to speak directly with our designated Child Safety Officer regarding our onboarding procedures or operational protocols, please contact our administration.
